Doh, my $40 price was for the normal 4-pin or 5-pin Lemos! I don't doubt the 10-pin or higher Lemos are much higher. If that's the case, then I don't think $240 for the cable is out of line, especially if the parts alone are over $160.

If you buy 50+ it's $66 for each LEMO in Nick's link.... That's for me, a consumer, online. I'm sure RED is getting them for $40 or less. Still pricey, but I really doubt the total parts for this cable cost more than $100.
found this guy on ebay. seem like its gonna do the job for a good price. he doesn't speak english just german but o well. ordered a couple of cables from him. since what i have is to short for comfort. oh yh link "http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/ph_nachrichtentechnik/"
The RED cable prices are reasonable and dependable.
When a cable fails, you replace it.
Your calbes are the LIFELINE for your camera and the quality of images it produces reliably...you are cutting corners in the wrong places.
Think Red's cable price is expensive? Try replacing a new car key with a transponder chip to start your car or truck. Auto manufacturers make 100's of thousands of those, and they are more expensive than any Red cable I know of. Both the camera and the car don't work very well with out them. I choked too till I put the cable in prospective.
I'd really love a Lemo extension cable for power. I have a longer cable for my Viewfactor plate but taking it apart to change it out is annoying. I'd pay $240 for a simple 4-6ft extension cable.
Welcome to the wonderful world of capitalism.![]()
