Is there any news on the power management improvement? The last time I read about it, was about a month ago, when Jarred mentioned, the improvements would be in small increments instead of a big jump. Did anyone hear anything else since then? Anyone? (RED Team?)

Thanks. Can't wait to see if we could bump up the Redvolt time to 40ies:)

If it had happened, I think we all would have heard about it ;)

Hang tight... they've got their hands full and I'm sure this is on the list.

Last info was: power management will be integrated in little pieces step by step. Don't expect a huge improvement in something like a build dedicated to power management

Keep in mind how software development works: the features we're seeing now are things that they probably started working on 3 months ago or more. In some cases, MUCH more. A feature has to be designed, coded, and then tested tested tested to make sure it doesn't break anything else.

So, even if Jarred had come out and said "Ok, Power management is now our TOP PRIORITY" I wouldn't expect to have it in my hands until 2-4 months later.

Power management is very tricky - and can cause hard to diagnose problems if there are software bugs.

Instead of pressing RED to hurry up, I'd rather they took all the time they need, and have an option to turn it off.

Yes, it would be nice to have but ... I guess my focus is just on stability, making everything rock-solid ... and compatibility with more lenses, so that any Canon compatible lens will work (although, maybe not as fast as one that's programmed to work).

My XMAS list of features for this year has already come quite early from RED.
