I shot a clip on Epic. Brought it into RCXPro. Created a look. Exported it for Epic to an SSD. Imported it into Epic and applied it. COntinued shooting. Everything fine up to this point. All monitors/displays reflect the look.

Upon bringing the new clips into RCX I do not see the look applied to those clips. SPecifically, all parameters are present EXCEPT the RGB curves which are not changed. The LUMA curve shows a change but RGB individual curves do not. Seriously disappointed as footage was delivered assuming look had been present in each clip as it was when shooting. The inconsistencies and bugs with this camera are extremely frustrating.

Can someone from RED please test this and see if it is a unique anomaly with my camera or footage. Thanks.

+1 Yup...This feature needs to be more user friendly and straight forward as well.

Nevertheless, these qualms need to be addressed so that they can better it. Thats why I love RED (For now, until they stop listening and become Apple-ish)

Eric, it's not unique to your camera... we experience the same problem... apply a look to the camera from a look created in RCX, it picks up all other parameters but the curve!
in fact, for the longest time now, we've experienced this on Red One as well... the curve is never applied automatically when we imported a look to the camera & we had to check the curve box for it to be picked up.

Any thoughts on this, Red support team?

    Thanks in advance!

What firmware build are you on? The functionality of RGB curve awareness in camera look files was only recently added.

The latest release build as of today. NOT the beta.

How do I submit this as a bug report. It really screwed me on this last job. This feature was advertised even with a video. The inattention to detail here is surprising.

Please let us know what the status is and if it will be addressed in the next firmware.

The new Build 15 of RCX Pro (released today) fixes this issue.

The RGB Curves can now be loaded from the R3D file by RCX.
