Looking for a nice rail system set up to use for the scarlet, want it to be a sticks/handheld rig. Seeing a lot of people carrying over items from their DSLR rigs and putting together different parts from different companies. Unfortunately, not to name any companies, most of the parts I have for my current set up are just not reliable as I went cheap when buying them for my DSLR. Was looking at the MCS shouldercam bundle wondering if any one has had good or bad experiences with these rigs? Better alternatives? Lightweight is nice but what I really want is reliability, as I've had bad experiences with just about everything, from follow focus to rails, handles, tripod plates etc. Thanks for any insight!

    Hey. How's it going?

It really depends how lightweight you want to go. I mean you arent shooting DSLR, you're on a Scarlet and I'm assuming you'd like to professionalize your outfit. The MCS system is perfect for the Scarlet. Whether you go Man-cam or Shoulder cam, it'll fit nicely. It actually works with any body you can think of... all you need to do is change out the cage. It's modular ability allows the cameraman to have much more freedom with multiple mounting points and ease of use. It makes your camera seem much more professional and balanced. Designed by Shane himself.. It really depends on what you'd like to invest in your own system. But this system is pretty full-proof. The service at Letus is amazing as well. If you have any other questions, I'd love to help. By any chance are you in LA? I know the guys at Revolution Cinema Rentals always offer up their time to demo the rigs. Check it out.

    Thank you very much!

I'm a big fan of the x rig if you want to be able to handle small rigs as well as heavier rigs.

I got it pretty much right when they announced it at NAB last year, and it has been really great. I've also heard that Letus has some new stuff they are working on for NAB this year, shoulder rig wise. Not sure if its credible or not, but if your not in a rush, you may want to see what comes out then.
