Zeiss Planar or Distagon

So this might be a dumb question but I want to buy a set of zeiss primes for my Scarlet X al canon mount and I was looking at the Zeiss Planar and Distagon primes, the Planar set looks to be faster but the Distagon set is more expensive. Why is that? Which ones should I get?

Distagon is Zeiss's nomenclature for wide-angle designs. Whereas Planar is how they group the faster, standard and telephoto designs. They are not necessarily relative. Most Zeiss sets will include both Distagons and Planars.

Sonnars on the other hand, refer to their slower standard and tele designs. These use less elements (but can have more even performance).

Tessars are the standars & teles with the least amount of elements (and are the slowest). These are often much older designs.
