We have a couple of Mamiya 645 Lenses here notably the 120mm macro, the shorter focal length lenses look very useful to though we don't have any and don't know how they perform. They are well build and profesionaly presented. and the macro lens works very well.

Any thoughts on using an A mount to say M42 and Mirex Tild Shift adaptor for Tilt Shift work and the Mamiya 645 35, 45, 55 and 80mm lenses ?

    Dave,

I have the Mamiya 120mm f4 macro and use it with a Mamiya-Nikon mount and then the Optitek Pro-lok. I am very pleased with it and it matches well with the Micro-Nikkors and Zeiss Luminars that I have.

It's not a Mamiya, but I've used a Hasselblad 80 2.8 on a EOS Tilt-Adapter and it works great. I was contemplating getting a Nikon Tilt Adapter and using it on the A-Mount as well, for a similar setup.

The idea of getting a whole set is smart.

Thanks Mark and Nick. I think Hasselblad would be good too, much of the Hasselblad glass is Zeiss or Schnieder I believe. I was drawn to the Mamiya glass as it high contrast and there appear to be some very happy users of the lenses, its easy to mount due to the long flange to sensor distance, 63mm I think. Its also comparatively inexpensive these days but was high cost when new and the lenses Ive handled feel very well built. There are a few comments around that the wider lenses breath a good deal so will need to check, however, this isn't so much for standard Cinematography work but effects work so a small set of lenses on the tilt shift adaptor could work well if they match other glass we use. Im told the 120mm macro Mark mentions Im told is stellar so we will definitely check that out too.
