    Hey Guys,

did a little test with a revolver being fired at 300fps today.....unfortunately I couldn't find any bullets for the automatic except teargas cartridges from 1983 which didn't fire anymore :/ The automatic would have been more fun with the bullet casings getting ejected from the gun.

Does anyone know why the vimeo video file is out of focus when they get uploaded ? I exported an H264 file out of final cut in 1920x1080 and its nice and sharp, but the vimeo version seems quite blurry :/

Not sure about the out of focus issue your dealing with. Have you tried to Twixtor the 300fps to something like 1000, or 2500fps to see how it looks. I'm curious to see how that turns out.

another thing to try is back light the gun and use as much shutter as you can. I do a lot of gun stuff on the Outdoor ch. I use a Phantom at around 8000 frames ?

woah 8000 frames would be impressive as hell.

I might download twixtor tomorrow and give it a try. the original footage is sharp as, must be something with the video conversion happening on vimeo itself, annoying :/

Ive tried to slow down 300fps footage with twixtor and it doesnt work.. Or atleast Im doing something wrong.. No problem with like 60fps stuff tho. So im curious if you can slow it down that much. Probly would have to crank shutter speed way up ????

Twixtor does not like motion blur, so you are correct. Lots of light and high shutter speeds.

Twixtor works at any frame rate on ingest (60, 300 even 8000) but previous posters are right, high shutter speeds are the key. You'll avoid those strange artifacts and be able to push just a little further.

About the soft issue: the file on vimeo is @720. You have to actually tell Vimeo to encode a 1080 version in your setup/file section.

the only thing i can find during upload is under EMBED then miscellaneous the option where it says "Default this video to HD when embedded", is that what you meant ?
