I just bought a new Panasonic BT-LH1710 monitor, and was surprised to find that when I turn on the WFM/Vector, it says "INVALID FUNCTION". Digging in the manual reveals: "1080/23P, 24P, 25P, 29P or 30P input causes “INVALID FUNCTION” to appear indicatingthat operation is disabled". I could have sworn I've used the waveform before though on other shoots. Does it really only work for 720p signals? That seems crazy to me. I'm shooting on Epic right now, so I could drop the SDI output to 720p, but I like using pixel-to-pixel mode to check focus in 1080.
Also — we have a strange problem with audio. When sending audio from the Epic to this monitor through SDI, the sound from the Panasonic's speakers is heavily distorted. Same thing from the Panasonic's headphone jack. The headphone jack on my little TVLogic SDI monitor sounds fine, which makes me think the Panasonic has a problem. But I wanted to check here to see if anyone has experienced this before. Maybe the Epic uses some weird non-standard audio format, which the TVLogic just happens to cope with?
