I'm using Red footage for the first time (and am ecstatic) and learning about Redcine-X Pro. All has been going well until I tried to sync the audio in the program. I followed the tutorial and everything appears like it worked well (it went out and found the correct audio files for the scenes), but when playing the clip, the audio is heavily distorted and screeching. It almost sounds like it's playing the sound 10x louder than it should, so it just becomes a distorted mess of screeching and rumbles. The wav files, when opened in a different program, sound great.

Any tips, help or information on why or how Redcine is screwing with audio?

    Thanks so much!

I've tried it on a few computers, so I know it's not an issue with the computer. Not sure what else to try at this point!

Just a thought - are you sure the audio was recorded correctly? Is it possible you recorded it too hot and you are hearing the digital distortion?

Chris needs some help, I'm surprised no one from Red has chimed in, is there an email of someone in Red who would help him troubleshoot this?

    Hi Chris,

Mac or Windows? How does the audio sound after transcoding through to a QuickTime? If you want to make available to me one of your files email redcinex at red.

    Thanks,
    David

Thanks for responding David. I'm using Windows. I'm transcoding a file to a quicktime now to test it. I've manually synced clips and audio in Premiere and the audio sounds fantastic that way. I'll try to get a clip and it's audio your way. Thanks!

    Hi Chris,

Also give build 15 a whirl. It's up now on red.com (or auto update). I did fix an issue that sounds similar to yours.

    Thanks,
    David

Awesome, I'll give that a try after the transcoding.
