I need to point a camera straight upwards on my Steadicam. I was wondering if anyone made an off-the-shelf L-Bracket to do this? The Steadicam will be vertical and the camera on top pointed straight up.

I am shooting a fulldome project with the rig rigged in a car.

Anyone know of any L-Bracket manufacturers?

    Thanks

we use CARTONI 45 DEGREE FIXED WEDGE PLATE. It works fine. Good thing is that the camera clears the tripod, so your rig can be any size. The issue could be that camera becomes off center the tripod. So good heavy tripod is a must.

It looks similar to this: http://www.infotvproducciones.com/ve...catego=19&opt=
but it is one solid piece of metal. Cannot find it anywhere online :-(

Jason, great suggestion thanks. Looks interesting. He's not sure if he'll have a production run ready in time for me.

Radim, I think I will be getting one of those anyway as it could come in useful for fulldome. I do worry about vibrations though with this plate in so many applications. Any experience?

Paul, cool! I remember seeing these a while ago for drives. I wonder if I can get the cameras CG over the middle of the circle if I colt the circle to the steadicam dovetail. There is that funny circular round lip...

    Thanks guys awesome tips.
