Ok, I know that some of you (old Pro's) may get sick of me posting my silly tests, but I get so many emails from the young and up incoming each day asking questions, that I find it easier to just share my own personal tests on the forum.
I'm about to shoot through a couple of nights for a TV commercial in crazy Jakarta... and I never go into night shoots without some lens and camera tests being done, especially in certain locations that I know are pushing the latitude friendship.
Red cameras are "ok" in low light, but not awesome..... not compared to the c500... However.. !
I shot this particular shot out the window of the car last night on the way back to my hotel.. a very dark section of the road. (and through a tinted window). I was just curious to see what could be retrieved. A silly test I know... , but what the hell.
In the 5 inche touch screen monitor I saw buggar all. (the tinted window did not help). I get to the hotel and plug the SSD card into reader, turn on RCX PRO and look into the shot... It's almost black except for the lights in the food stands. First thought was, there is know way we are getting anything out of this one. So I started pushing and pulling this r3d around and managed to actually get alot out of it.
I'm still very very amazed with what you can actually get from this sensor. (may not be as good as the c500 for hi ISO shooting) But if this could be gotten out of a standard EPIC, I can only just imagine what the Dragon sensor will see.
Good night... :)
