Today is my birthday and I just have a quick question about color temp and lighting.

What color temp are you primarily shooting your Epic projects on?
Right now my lighting kit is all daylight balanced lighting. I've been purposely avoiding the Tungsten(3200) color temp spectrum. Am I introducing more potential for noise by using 3200 lights with the Epic? Are you guys gelling the tungsten to bring it closer to 5000-5600?

Daylight 5600 is best but it depends on the look your after. Happy Birthday!

There is no reason to be scared of tungsten lighting with epic. I use daylight for most daytime interiors, and tungsten for most night interiors.

I just white balance every shot .... if I have total control I use daylight tubes ... if there are a few tungsten lamps in the scene .... I let them throw an orange cast as often as not I find it helps the scene ....

Hey Taj,

It used to be much more of an issue with the Red One and original sensor. Nowadays it's not as crucial, but if you have the choice daylight will always give a cleaner image than tungsten.
