No noise unless i select CAM ANALOG.
That rules out the cables, as far as the hum/buzz goes. If you've ruled out AC interference and your input gain isn't cranked I'd say it's time to fill out a support ticket.

Is the noise in both channels? Is there any activity on the VU meters?

Also, are you hearing the noise when played back from the Scarlet or from the computer?

Well here is the funny thing. Its in the old firmware, not the beta. Then i thought "Well, ill give the old firmware another go" and now its gone... Now, it is there when the ac is in, but when i did my shoot yesterday it was running on redvolts, and it ruined the shoot yesterday... Im totally confused and i really hope it doesnt come back. But it looks like a few other guys have this problem, so lets try and work it out for them...

What firmware are you running Timothy? I had the SAME EXACT ISSUE about a month ago... a firmware update was in order... and it was all gone! If you have the latest... try re-installing? That might work.

    Good luck!

That was the fix for me anyway! I know how frustrated you are! That high pitch hum just goes higher and louder as the fan speed increases, right? Oh, it drove me nuts! I had the same issue.... it even recorded that way when there was NOT a mic plugged into the camera. I have to say... the guys in tech support were awesome! It took nearly a full afternoon, but they got it figured out for me! They even stayed late to help, as I had an important shoot the next day! A few of the guys in that department are simply awesome! Have you reached out to them? Definitely give that a shot!

Exactly the same problem! The fan speed seemed to affect it.

The audio acquisition on my Scarlet has been quite good, however I have worked on set with other Scarlets that record terrible audio. An interesting point about this is that each camera was using the same Mogami XLR to 3.5mm cable and Sennheiser shotgun. Therefore, as strange as it sounds, I think that each Scarlet has a different audio 'personality' if you will. That being said, I think it is very important for anyone who experiences such problems to post their experiences here, so that Red has some idea of exactly how many people are dealing with it.

As others have mentioned already, I agree that it is very strange to have a camera of such high quality struggle with basic audio acquisition. It really shouldn't be the case.

    Quick audio question:

Does anyone know what happened to the dropdown menu that allowed you to select 'phantom camera'. Was on a shoot yesterday, the first since the firmware upgrade, and I just couldn't find it.

    Thanks,

    Antonio
