We have the same hum/buzz in the recording. We bought RED cables mini-XLR and still having the same problem.

Just for fun today I used a strategically placed iPhone as my mic and recorder for a scratch track, and it worked very well. Kind of funny, I know, but also a heck of a lot simpler than dealing with pro audio gear and the Scarlet's odd implementation of audio acquisition. NOT for the main recording, mind you, just scratch track.

I used the memo app to record and Synced it in my NLE.

But: imagine how much better it would have sounded with actual pro recording gear. And much of that might be less costly and complicated than you might think.

I continue to be saddened by people who will spend $12,000 for a camera and countless thousands for lenses and other gear, but can't find a way to spend a couple of grand on a simple mixer or recorder and a decent microphone.

Orson Welles and George Lucas both have said (decades apart) that "sound is half of the motion picture experience." Sadly, it appears to be the half that camera owners understand and appreciate the least.

I think my iPhone will pretty much destroy any pro equipment out there. In fact, I just mounted it to a broomstick with tape because it saves me from purchasing a proper boom pole.

You could always shoot the show with the camera in the iPhone, and save even more money.
