  1. #1 Epic-Composite Out Octocopter Setup
    Hey Guys
Anyone have any recommendations for sending a composite out signal for an octocopter setup? We have to send SD to the camera op so we can go long distances.

I was looking into the decimator or the AJA Downconverter. Thoughts?

    Thanks!

There are cheaper solutions out there that the folks use on multicopters. Lighter too. I have seen sub $100 downconverters from hdmi to composite. Look on runryder and helifreak in the AP forums.

We have been using the decimator for about a year now on our helicams flying the Epic with no problems. I find you get what you pay for.

We ended up going with the Decimator2. Now we just need to power it. I am hoping to tap into the IDX that is powering the epic. Thoughts?

should be fine. The Decimator can take 5-24V DC. Also, 2.1mm consumer connectors are quite easy to find and work with.
