Putting some scarlet footage through the system. About 50% of all clips give us a "finished with error" in the status column, and when they do error out it reads "Error processing image for frame: xxx"

When we re-run the problem clips sometimes they will finish just fine, or they will error again, but never on the same frame, which leads me to believe the footage and data files are not corrupted.

The log for the problem files always ends with this one troubling statement: "shamem: interprocess_exception No such file or directoryredexport: failed to open shared memory object."

Not sure what that means. We've tried different destination directories etc... always the same problem.

Also, footage plays back fine in rcx. But these errors are making are batch transcodes take ages and it is super frustrating.

    Any thoughts are appreciated.

Sounds like you are possibly running out of memory. Can you enable verbose logging and recreate the the issue. Then do a save report from the help menu and email the zip to redcinex at red? I'll be able to take a closer look that way.

    Thanks,
    David

Just wanted to let the forum know we finally solved this issue... I used activity monitor to close all unnecessary background applications, and made sure to keep redcine as the only thing running, and that seemed to do the trick. We had some network utilities, growl, and some other stuff that might have been hogging up memory. So if you are getting weird erros, give it a shot.

+1 Tom helped me set up my rocket system. 16 gigs ram, did the trick, and sped it up significantly. 4khd renders nearly double real time to proreshq.
