Hi people. I'm Engin from Istanbul. I'm a new DIT intern. I've just read the article on RMD post-production technology and I have 2 questions about.
    1) Would you under any circumstances prefer shooting RMD for video?

    2) Does shooting RMD alongside R3D mean double disk space on CF and SSD?

    Thanks for your time.

RMD is metadata file, it is not a video file. It is just holding your settings data like an xml file.

Teşekkür ederim Koray. (Thank you Koray.) I knew it would sound amateur but the guys at the office are at a shooting right now.

You are very welcome to ask anything at anytime. As far as I have been in contact with many post houses in Turkey. They have no clue about Red Raw workflow, all they do is convert R3D's to a PRORES file and use it as is. Even the DIT's that I have seen here in Turkey are just transferring cards from SSD's to hard drives. None of them even use integrity check and etc. Where as a DIT is a person who has to have more capabilities. Please check http://www.red.com/learn/workflow/bmw-workflow , the video gives a good idea of a good DIT. Also it is wise to check and be aware of the RED Workflow from the following links.

My intention is not to disrespect anyone here in Turkey, but as a fashion photographer when I see that I am the only person who is aware of a real raw workflow , I get really disappointed.
We need really good DIT's here in Turkey for sure..

I thank you for your support. Here at the office we have two very experienced and informed DITs that answer any of my questions as well. I don't think the situation in Turkey is that pessimistic. We just need time to get more experience and knowledge. Turkey's film industry is structured of a very hard-working crew membership.

I have checked your work and I liked it very much even though fashion photography had never been my major interest.
