Hey all, got a small problem here. Took some recent Epic 5K HD footage into RedCineX and I've noticed when I play back the r3d I hear the audio recorded in camera in the player in RedCineX. However, when I go to export it as a pro res quicktime, even with the audio boxes all checked, the quicktime has no sound with it. I'm using the latest version of RedCineX and the Epic is on the latest build. Any ideas or help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Joe,

Have you configured the Quicktime audio settings on the Setup dialog?

Hi David, yes I did that as well. What's odd is I just exported the same clip just now, and it had audio and the only thing I changed in the rendering setup was I went from 1/2 premium debayer to full debayer. Odd, but it's working now.

I'm having the same problem only worse now. I exported a QT prores 422 file and it had no audio. Tried it again and the file never materializes after the export. Says it's there, but it's not. So I went from having a file with no audio, to a file that isn't there. Have tried it on older footage and getting the same result.

    Need a little help, please.

OK, something is definitely wrong with this version of Redcine-X with my setup. When I try to export a clip from the viewfinder, it refuses to place the clip in the designated folder. On top of that, it adds the folder name to the name of the file and places it outside the folder, directly on the RAID. Never seen this before, very odd behavior.

    Hi Mark,

Thats a known bug with Build 15 unfortunately. As for the audio problem, have you configured your QuickTime audio settings?

    David,

Yes, and typically the upgrades keep the configurations I've already made. I just went back to 14 and everything is working fine. I'll stay there for the time being. Thanks!

    Hi Mark,

I understand .. the upgrade to build 15 added a new configuration for QuickTime audio, as it now has configurable settings. Thats why you have to configure it when you setup a QuickTime preset.

    Thanks,
    David

    David,

That's odd, once I discovered the issue, I went to the Quicktime settings and they looked correct, so I left them alone. Of course, I don't fool with it that much once things are set to my liking, so I could be overlooking something I suppose, but I don't think I am. Anyway, it's working just fine now with 14. Oh, also did notice another odd thing, the audio was coming out of only the left channel in 15 at one point. But, once I moved back to 14 everything went back to normal.
