I´m looking into some kind of quickrelase thing, to be able to work fast with my Cineslider, Kessler tripod, Vinten triped and Zacuto baseplate.

Kessler are bragging about a new thing, they call the Kwik release, looks all good on paper. But then there's this video, which is supposed to show how good the thing is.

The guy says twice, that the system is very secure, and that "there's no movment". But exactly when he says that sentence and shows it, all I can see is alot of movement and shaking. What do you guys thing, is this a good option, or should I go for the red quickrelease?

    Check it out at 3.15

Why do they make a video, showing that much movement? I can imagine that cineslider wobbling up and down when the camera slides from side to side with a 85 mm lens.

From the fatalistic tone of your post I was expecting to see about 50x as much movement.

Those tiny wobbles have nothing to do with the arca swiss clamp. Firstly, the tripod itself might have moved a little bit since they're on uneven ground. But I suspect it's mostly flex in the slider. Build an aluminum contraption that long and mount it at a single point in the middle and it's going to have flex. No getting around it (without making the thing impractically heavy). In fact, I'm impressed with how little there was!

Are you sure, you're looking at when he's mounting the slider on 3 min. 15 sec.?

It's bouncing about 2 cm. up and down, and the tripod is steady on the ground. He's not even putting alot of pressure on. If you mount a scarlet with batteries and mattebox, that weight will wiggle way too much, when you move the camera across center. He's even saying "it's extremely secure" at the exact same time.

I have the Cineslider and the Tripod from kessler. And I mount it on the tripod with two screws. It is rock solid. There's no flex on the slider itself. This definently doesn't look right to me.

Maybe I´m expecting too much from a quick-release system. Is this as good as they get with this weight?

I ordered 3 of these this morning, for my tripod, x shoulder rig and end of my Kessler Crane. I'd be happy to post my thoughts and check out this wobble issue for you when mine arrive. I haven't seen the video, but from the other places I've seen and hear, it seems rock solid and a very affordable price...

If they work and this wobble thing is a non issue, I´ll probably also order.

In general no Kessler item we have ordered (and we have almost the whole catalog) has ever done anything other than work as well as advertised, sometimes even better.

I may buy one just to see what it does that a $40 cheaper clamp from RRS doesn't. Film industry premium drives me insane.

I'd also love feedback on this...
By the way Lee, who is RRS?

The makers of the best ballheads, arca-swiss clamps and arca-swiss plates (including camera-specific ones for most DSLRs and lens-specific ones for most DSLR lenses, macro rails, panorama setups, etc), and the second best (behind Gitzo) spreader-less tripod legs.
