This sensor upgrade is definitely a very exciting prospect for our cameras.

Will there be any sort of priority for early EPIC-M owners based on delivery dates or Serial numbers the way there was for M to MX sensor upgrade?

    Thanks RED.

Is it true that only new EPICs purchased will get the free 6K Dragon upgrade? How about the 2 Epics-M's and 2 Epic-X's I purchased? I have to pay $6K for for camera or do we get free upgrades as well if we spent over $50K per order at the time of order. I guess I'm not sure why only new customers would get the upgrade when the old loyal customers who believed in RED (especially with the M series) must pay. Just a question. :)

I would hope you have gotten use and value out of your EPICs. And did you get a 100% trade in from your RED ONEs?

Are you really complaining about a $6K upgrade?

So you own an EPIC? You get to upgrade to the single most significant sensor in the history of image capture for $6K. You don't have to buy a new camera. This is RED at it's best.

Come the end of the year... there will be a new dynamic range King. It just so happens that there is a new resolution King at the same time. And frame rates don't suffer.

Is this really big news? YES.

You never disappoint Jim. It amazes me how such a small company can out maneuver, develop and think outside the box than your competitors that have more resources, and experience than RED. I guess there was a lot of money to be made with the status quo.

Status quo is a dangerous game....for your competitors.

Yay!!! Mark my place on the queue!! ( this year's Macau GP -November 15-18 I'll be shooting MX, right? No problem at all: it's still going to produce the most stunning ever racing footage to be seen from this event :)

Have the dimensions been finalized? Same size as Epic-X?

Any change to IR filter? I have a dream of putting my hot mirror away.

Epic -M owners will get priority for the Dragon upgrade.

No free upgrades before the NAB special $50k deal.. It has nothing to do with loyalty.. it has to do with economics. As much as we would love to.. as a business we can't give everything away for free.. we already did that once.

Not same size.. Dragon is slightly taller and slightly wider.
