Can't wait... I'm ready!
There have been quite a few mastered in 4K. According to IMDb, The Amazing Spider-Man was mastered in 4K, the 3D obviously wasn't projected in 4K. I could be wrong, but i think the 70mm IMAX blow ups were from 4K masters. But there are more than just Dragon Tattoo Mastered in 4K.
There have been a ton of movies mastered and released in 4K.. not just shot on RED but film scanned at 4K and mastered. Dragon Tattoo was not the first and only. .. And not only the new Spiderman, but way back with Spiderman 2 , almost 10 years ago now, was shot on 35mm&65mm film, scanned in 4K, DI 4K and projected in Digital 4K.
Jarred,
Do you guys offer screenings of the 4k films shot on RED at the studios in Hollywood?
Some great memories I've had as a Red owner are from actually going to Red Studios Hollywood for the occasional event focusing on movies and post production that shot on Red. Also great to meet people during Reducation open houses. Nice to put faces to names, even nicer now working with a few of those folks.
But, easily the best part is actually viewing the material in 4k there. Little teaser trailers, featurettes, and whatever else they put up there.
When you see your own work projected in 4k it really is a breath taking experience.
... is anyone else feeling the need for some built-in ND's inside this camera?
