May have some 300fps footage thrown my way and was wondering if I'm able to utilize my red rocket or not. I remember being told one day the rocket doesn't increase speed on a 300fps workflow.

    Thanks!

It should work the same as if you had shot 25 fps or 1 fps. Can't see why it wouldn't...

I think if you're time base was 300fps, your redrocket would be like "what is going on here" and wouldn't play as smoothly, but since your'e timebase is probably going to be the same as it usually is then the redrocket will be playing back as it normally does and you will have no issues I am sure.

It's not quite that simple. The Rocket can only scale down, not up. Up-scaling is done in software. So if you are rendering to a resolution higher than your shooting resolution, which is more likely to be the case when shooting at higher frame rates, the Rocket will not give as much acceleration as you might hope for.

Thanks guys. I just remember hearing down the pipeline that the rocket didn't increase render speed when you shot at 300fps..

Nick, the up-resing thing would make sense though.
