I often rig my camera with different modules attached to the brain, and I look at the 'lost' real estate on the top of those modules thinking wouldn't it be great...

Also the ¼-20 holes for mounting stuff to the modules give me a bit of concern since even when locked the modules wiggle just a little bit.

So - is anyone making Top Plates that cover the brain and modules? I understand that there would need to be different lengths:
Brain + MODULE ADAPTOR + PRO I/O MODULE
Brain + MODULE ADAPTOR + PRO BATTERY MODULE (DUAL)
Brain + MODULE ADAPTOR + PRO BATTERY MODULE (QUAD)

This longer top plate would give more holes to add accessories / more space for existing accessories & would solidify the attachment of the extra modules to the brain.

    Just a thought.
Can't believe I get paid to do this.
If I don't own it I rent it...

I think that is a great idea. There is a lot of unused top real estate there!

The company that rhymes with schmooden schmamera has a top plate for the module adaptor and quad battery module.

There is a company that is doing it. The initials are WC. If I "say it," it will get replaced here on REDuser with an "X". Go figure.
PM me if it is not obvious.

Wait I now see what you are referring to on ligneous camera; but they are separate top plates for the battery module and module adapter. I'm interested in a continuos plate - one solid piece - front to back. I think this would be way sturdier.
Cost isn't a problem, nor is having different plates for different configs.

Yeah - different plates. You can strengthen them and "join" them by putting a LW 15mm Top Mount on each and connect those with rods.

Not very 'elegant' and the rods just get in the way. Thanks for your help.

If cost isn't an issue, you may be best off to take the plate you have to a local machinist, tell them what length you want to extend to and repeat the hole pattern, and have it made. It won't cost you a crazy amount more than what's out there already (though it very well may cost a little more, but, hell, it'll be custom made to your preferred lengths). The holes are very standard sizes, and it should be easy for any machinist to CNC out, or even make by hand.

It's an option that I considered - and may yet follow. I just figured I can't be the only one who is looking for this, and the makers of this sort of thing (ligneous et-al) that I've contacted have chosen to ignore my requests so far.
