I have a very special and rare Leica variable prime lens up for sale. I have been hesitant to sell it for a few reasons, A. Only 200 of these lenses exist and they are impossible to find for a reason. B, It out performs the Leica R primes at every stop so if your a Leica shooter or starting to build a set then consider this 4 primes in one.
I bought this lens form a collector in NYC, I had been looking for a very long time and hit the jack pot with this one. It was and is in MINT condition, meaning no signs of wear, usage, scratches etc on the body or paint. It appears NEW. The glass is clean of any marks and crystal clear with zero fungus etc etc etc...its looks NEW. I dont know how many hours this lens was used but being that it was from a collector I doubt much, its essentially new. Did I say that already? OK moving on...mechanically its superb, the focus is butter smooth and zoom is clean and clear. You will notice the zoom fills stiffer in comparison to the focus and has a small padding on the very end but Leica says this is 100% how its designed etc.
What mods? If you know MAT Duclos in LA then you know his shop DUCLOS lenses is one the best when it comes to modifying still lenses for cinema use. The lens has gears added for both focus and zoom. There is an 80mm front ring for step down on matte boxes and a Leitax (the very best) mount adaptor installed for using on a canon mount. Please know that all mods are NOT PERMANENT. For collectors sake I made sure of this, everything can be removed or taken off.

I am asking 12,500 OBO. I have been offered 10k several times and I see them go on EBAY for 11-12k. The price is based on what i see them go for, the condition its in, and for the recent DUCLOS mod. I am not in a rush to sell this lens, cause I LOVE this lens. Yes its possible to love glass. :)

*Edit, this lens comes with the leather pouch and original caps plus ARRI cap for the 80mm front. I can also ship it in a small pelican case.
