RCX 16 Limited Quicktime Export compression options?

Just installed RCX 16 on my new Macbook and am confused that I can no longer select Apple Prores in the quicktime export compression drop down menu. These are my only options :

Any advice greatly appreciated!

You don't have any pro apps installed, so no extra codecs. Either install FCP, or do a tiny bit of work to download them from apple http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1396

You'll need to open the .pkg file with an app like http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/ Then copy the codecs to /Library/Quicktime on your hard drive.

i thought that might be the case so I got round to loading up fcp x but still the same deal (what does that tell us that hasn't already been said about fcp x!)...about to load up fcp 7 so hope that'll fix things.
