I had the fun chance to shoot as A camera op and steadicam operator on P.O.D.'s latest music video "Higher" shot in San Diego - produced by TalkboyTV. Onyx Cinema's Red Scarlet was rented for the shoot and the production rented some Canon EF lenses for it. A pretty low budget camera package, but used well. As usual for music videos, I got to get out of my comfort zone of event and narrative and go bend some rules on keeping horizons etc. (who needs a flat horizon anyway?)
I was on my Steadicam Zephyr most of the day and what was fun was that band member Traa's son is a growing AC that came on as my focus puller on my bartech. The rest of the B-roll footage within and outside the main story was shot on DSLR's. Looking forward to doing more with P.O.D. Some fun behind the scenes stuff coming. I'll post those soon!
