  1. #1 Upgraded to 3.2.21 firmware, 512 SSD not recognized
I upgraded to v3.2.21 and the 512 GB SSD say "No Media Attached".

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Have you tried formatting the SSD with the new firmware or does it not even show up in the camera?

Doesn't even show up. SSD light won't come on for any of the 512s but shows up fine for the 128.

Just grasping at straws but maybe put the same firmware force upgrade on a 512 and see if it acknowledges it and reinstalls the firmware. May correct the issue or, if not, add more information.

Again, just guessing here, best of luck!

Interesting idea. The issue is not even Red Watchdog will recognize the drives. My Mac is asking to initialize them. I did, I even formatted one FAT in disk utilities...

Anyone know if there is a Mac utility to format a mag for the RED EPIC?

One last thing you can try before you open a ticket with RED is to Open Disk Utility and make sure that the drive is using MBR and NOT GPT, then format it with the fat option in disk utility. Then put the mag in the camera. If it shows up then great, if it doesn't, then click on the touch screen where it should show you a media remaining percentage and see what happens. If the mag shows up, then use the camera to format it, but DON'T Secure format it until RED releases a firmware that supports SECURE Formatting a 512GB card.

I have a similar problem with my 512GB. The camera does not recognize it at all. I tried formatting it on my computer (DOS-FAT 32), but camera still does not see the mag. I am using the latest firmware. Opened a ticket.

I think R3D Manager can reformat for you.

I have a 512GB card and mine only works with 3.3.x and up. I believe I read somewhere the forum that it's only 3.3.x and up that the 512GB is supported. I could be completely wrong, but that could be your issue.

I have had a few glitches with the Epic recognizing it on start up, but only twice. I'm assuming that's due to 3.3.x being beta.
