I use a friction gear that was supplied with my Oconnor Ofocus DM with all Canon, Nikon and other still lenses and don't have too much trouble.
You just have to master your focus-pulling skills, cause the focus throw is shorter.
We have the RPZ18-85 and its a great lens. I saw someone here selling one with the optitek ring and mount for about $4800? with a case, that's a great price. But beware you will need a support system. i use the 19mm rods and the arri LS-9 bridge. Works great. Awesome lens, can't go wrong. We have yet to get a follow focus for it, as we bought the zacuto one for way too much and are a little put off by the prices of the 19mm FF's. We don't have to pull focus very often in what we shoot, though.
Get an Oconnor Still Follow Focus.
