A colleague of mine inquired about these set of glass, but I'm not familiar with them. Has anyone played around with these. Please share your experiences. Thank you.

Lots of discussions already. They also go by other names like Samyang and Bower.

Start your research with a read of Matthew Duclos' discussion about the Rokinon vs. Zeiss:

    http://matthewduclos.wordpress.com/2...f1-4-showdown/

Then read a bunch of other stuff he writes about Rokinon later. Then search this forum for even more discussion.

Personally, I have the 8mm cine version (just received) and I own the 35 and 85 still lenses, which I had Duclos de-click and add focus rings to (love it!). And, I plan on buying the 24 cine when it's available (Sept), perhaps the 14, and certainly will look closely at a 50, if they get around to making on.

    I have the 24, 35 and 85.
Image wise the 35 is comparable favourably to the canon L but with much better mecanics. Sharp as hell.
The 85 is just a gem. I must say that I prefer it over the canon 85.
All three lenses have very good mecanics, apart from the clicked aperture.
Very good focus throw, with a lens gear and FF you can pull acurate focus all day without worries.
Best bang for your buck hands down.
    I wish they had a 18 and a 50 though.

Send your lenses to Matthew Duclos for cine-mod treatment. I sent my 35 and 85. Couldn't be happier!
