Can anyone with Baselight experience tell me if there is a toggle to remove or ignore the CURVES parameters in the Red metadata? I know in Resolve there is a check box.

    Thanks!

I don't think Baselight takes any notice of curve values in an RMD file. Just did a quick test and it would not seem to. For pretty much every other SDK parameter you have the option on a per clip and per parameter basis to choose the RMD/metadata value or the default value or a custom value.

So it completely ignores luma, red, green, blue curve values dialed in RCXPro? This would be great to confirm as I'm in a session and want to make sure we are starting with the cleanest data possible. Thanks for the reply. I REALLY appreciate it!

Should't this be in some other thread? This is the Resolve thread....

sorry, i know. There's no Baselight forum and the "workflow - other" forum seems way less trafficked. :( I figured it was likely to get a faster response here. I apologize.

You can open/request a Baselight thread, to the best of my knowledge. With one available, you will have much more visibility and traffic.

    Cheers,

You can request the Baselight to either bring in the RMD(redcine-x) metadata, the camera metadata or to reset to default.

To my knowledge it WILL bring in almost everything but NOT the curve. Basically it will only bring the values that it has available for tweaking on the SDK and the curve is NOT one of em. Would love to be corrected if I am wrong though.

Well, I went to our suite, created some RMD looks in redcine-X with aggressive curves and it DOES bring that look into the baselight if you choose to load your RMD's. Couldn't find where to edit them out.

Just sent an email to baselight support asking about this.
