While I enjoy the fact that PPro recognizes a master clip from any one of its component subclip references upon placing within a timeline, I have a need to see a visual cue/reference of the actual subclip breaks that occur in each master clip... I've reached out to Adobe, but have heard nothing back, and thought I might at post here as well.
Ideally, having an option to show/hide a vertical dashed line and its correlating scubclip component name indicating where the break actually occurs would be immensely useful!
As an upgrade, if we could ALSO have an added EDL option to generate a more "media" accurate EDL, that broke out the edit further to include the actual sucblip media being referenced, this would be even more awesome!!
For example, if the first clip referenced within the edit was 90 seconds long, but due to R3D's "2GB per clip data limitations", this clip was comprised of 3 subclips within the R3D folder, the new "optional" EDL would indicate not just the single master edit point, but three edit points, one for each subclip.
Having this feature would enable us to share media between EDIT, VFX, and POST/COLOR a lot more accurately... As it stands, there is no auto-collect ability that accurately grabs all the subclips needed for an EDL, so these either must be carefully gathered by hand, or else, multiple copies of Multi-TB datasets end up getting passed around , when we might only need 20-30 subclips at 2GB apiece.
Thanks in advance,
CK
