Why not putting a diagram (updated as technology evolves) for every workflow showing the best way to handle RED footage from start to finish for every "platform" out there ? One for Apple, another for Avid, Adobe, etc... Would be great to have them and will answer immediately a lot of questions for beginners and clarify things for pros. Diagrams validated by RED, Michael Cionni...
Same as for Hardware configurations summarizing Jeff Kilgroes knowledge. Same for shooting procedures. We spend countless hours retrieving those informations, sorting and comparing them. I see a lot of people asking the same questions. VERY USEFUL i think.

I was just about to ask a question similar to this. I was wondering about an Adobe workflow.

Here is what I was wondering (correct me if I am wrong):

    1) Shoot with Epic/Scarlet

    2) Bring r3d's into REDCINE-X Pro and do a "first light" process (use RC3 and RG3?)

    3) Bring "first lighted" r3d's into Adobe Premiere and begin edit (use dynamic link to AE for any work like titling, speed ramping etc.)

    4) Now that edit is done, export an XML or EDL and then bring into desired colour program (davinci, speedgrade, colour)

    5) Bring back into Premiere and then render out using Premiere or Media Encoder

    So here are my questions,

Before exporting an XML or EDL to a colour correction program, should you go back through in Premiere and change everything to REDlogFilm?

Is this a "correct" way to keep a RAW work flow? (please take into account that when I saw RAW, I mean no transcoding. I know their is another thread regarding quality etc etc)

I've seen a lot of people suggest this. It's definitely a great idea, but would take some serious time to do it for each editing system. Hopefully this helps!

Michael Cioni of LightIron Digital also has excellent, well-thought-out workflow diagrams that are provided as part of the courseware with his Reducation Post classes.
