awesome. any idea about production cost?
I'd love to see some sample footage. ( as separate eyes, not horrid anaglyth please )
What is each eyes aspect ratio ? Portrait, I assume.
What is minimal lens focal length before the edge of the mirror is seen?
Thanks.
cool, thanks man. look forward to seeing it. the only real concern i have is being able to set up your shot artistically... i'm not a real big measuring guy, i don't use focus tape or a light meter - i just like to look at the thing and say when.
les, i agree anaglyph is pretty poor (although there are some pretty cool color optimizations for it that have improved the viewing experience) - but it would be nice to have additionally 1. as a quick check while you burn a disc or prep it for viewing properly and 2. so almost everybody can view it.
technically this design is not a "beamsplitter" as you are not splitting light like on a mirror/beamsplitter rig........on the design you posted a photo off you are only reflecting light. I would call it more of a Image splitter or something like that.....definately not a beamsplitter.....
Just wanted to clear this up......
In general beam splitter divides the original input beam into two new ones and the new ones either retain original geometry or are halves of the original.
In short, mirror splits geometry and half mirror splits intensity of the light-field while retaining geometry.
Any update on sample footage?
