  1. #1 Choosing Follow focus: Redrock micro blue vs Ofocus vs Chroszie vs ARRI MFF2l
Could you please advice which follow focus will be comfortable and perfect in work?

I am trying to choose Follow focus, I have worked with Chrosziel 203-1S it is very comfortable but is very expensive, it is 2000$, it is also very well reviewed Ofocus but it is 2000$ too, alternative for Chrosziel 203-1S or Ofocus maybe ARRI MFF2 but is it 1700$ I think 300-400$ is not a big difference so if you are ready to buy FF for 1600 I think you will be ready to buy the perfect Ofocus or Chrosziel for 2000. My budget is around 1100

    So the Dillema:
    1. Find very good follow focus for around 1100 but if the quality of this follow focus is giving rise to doubt and you are not sure that you will not work absolutely comfortable (may be some backlash or something else)

    2. So in this case I think would be much better to wait until accumulate additionally 900$ and buy Chrosziel 203-1S or Ofocus in the future.

I have found Redrock micro blue Dual for 1200 (under 1200$ maybe it is the best Follow focus)

it would be good to buy Follow focus now but if Chrosziel 203-1S or Ofocus is much much better I will wait a few months and try to buy Chrosziel 203-1S or Ofocus?

    Thank you for any advises

I would wait and save up money for either the Chrosziel or OConnor. The MFF2 is nice, but it's nicer to have a dual sided follow focus. You can find the Chrosziel studio on Ebay for $2k all the time with both knobs and possibly other accessories. I've had one for a couple of years and it's still as good as the day I bought it. Very well made and worth the money.

I would save up, or as Matthew says, look for a secondhand Chrosziel.

If I was buying new, I'd go with the O'Connor as a more modular, upgradeable option, and because it is so low profile on the rods.

i have the redrock micro blue, studio version. It's a really nice follow focus, which works good, but a big drawback is that you can't easily take of the right wheel, you need to unscrew 5 really small screws if you want to take half off, what is not practical on set. For the price, it's nice, but an arri ff5 or ff4 is always nicer :)

The Arri Mff2 is not that expansive. I have the same question as you and for now, i was more advice to go for the Arri

As I have never owned any of the mentioned follow focus above, I can't really comment on them. I do own the Studio redrock micro follow focus blue and I must say I was very impressed with the quality for the price. I previously owned the redrock V2 follow focus and while it was ok it does not compare to the Blue. The redrock has many cool features especially for those shooting with still lenses. It has adjustable hard stops, adjustable back lash, gear flip, cool glow stick insert lol.. And its very smooth!!
