need urgent help

the Red station connected to a mc book pro with red mag inside.
vis fire wire 800.
it wont pop up in the desk top.
any idea why?
my friend is on a remote set and i need to help him figure this up.

Look for the RED icon in the upper right of the menu bar - click it and choose "Mount" or something like that. Sorry, not in front of a Mac at the moment.
