Intel has officially gone 4K. Current Ivy Bridge users will soon get hardware accelerated 4K video decoding and 4K display support on select configurations (Dual DP only and I don't even know of anyone who makes such a configuration on a board) via a driver update and Haswell (coming next year) gets the full 4K experience from single DP and HDMI connections. This fits with the latest news coming out of China about mass manufacturing of 4K display panels for next year's monitors and high-end notebooks. 4K iMac anyone?

Intel has also just given Linux users a nice gift of stereoscopic 3D support in their latest code contributions. That should help Intel nicely as a future choice for Linux video production and playback with all the new fancy NLE stuff coming out next year.

    So Red Team,

Will we have a 4k preview option?
One camera is a shoot... two or more is a production.
