So I went out shooting tonight and while I was out there my Red started doing some weird things. First off the timelapse function didn't seem to work at all in 4K 2:1, as that was the only setting I was using tonight. Then after I did a 1fps clip that lasted for 45 minutes or so it took about 15-30 seconds to post after I hit the record button to stop. I also got this long post time on short clips as well. I then tried to record another clip after that but I got a record error and the image on the LCD was playing back a couple frames on a loop. The camera wasn't in playback mode when this was happening. I could change settings but nothing I did you change the image in the LCD. I would have to power down the camera and then try again. The camera did this about 3 times back to back. It would do this in both the 1fps mode and in 24fps. After the 3rd time powering down and powering back up the camera worked fine. I guess I need to stick with build 13 for the time being because 14 has got some gremlins running around in it.

I had something like this with build 13 when recording to a bad CF card. (Which RED exchanged immediatly). This card worked for 2-3 shots, then I got the "Never Ending Post" message.

I've used these cards before and never had a problem. So I don't think its that. After the power down and power back up I was able to playback the clips I had gotten before the loop crash.

There are still some issues with build 14 as it is beta. We greatly appreciate everyone going out and testing it and giving us feedback to work out the kinks in the beta. If you can, please submit the problems to support so they are guaranteed to be properly tracked.

we have shot a BUNCH of time-lapse in 4K 2:1 on Build 14 with no issues.
Maybe Stuart can take a peek at your LOG file from the root of your MAG ?

That would be good if we can see that. You can PM me, or send to redsupport. As for an extended POST operation, you can do a test as follows - uncheck the QT PROXIES box in PROJECT. Do you still see a same POST delay?

Background: After each record pass the camera takes a while to generate the proxies, but a) you can turn that process off, and b) shorter clips don't take as long, so generally you don't notice the wait time.

This is very helpful information... Try to get that into the manual!

I'll try the TL function again and see if it works. When I'm back home I'll send the Log file to you Stuart.
