if you brought it down to the original price of the red one , no only would it be a nice nod to the first. but it would drive canon , sony and others out of their minds - guess red is playing for keeps and isnt interested in ceding any ground on tech specs or price. others are still dishing out incremental ware. funny none of them seem to want to go after the red where you are strongest internal recording and raw codec

Haha - Jim, I bought the same 1984 Mac for that outrageous price. A couple years later I recall buying a 10MB external hard drive for $1300. It's a wonder anyone could afford to buy computers in those days! LOL

That's always a biggie and a cost driver, but it's well worth it in the end. You've solved the major engineering challenges in releasing EPIC the first time; hopefully all future iterations of the camera will reap huge gains because of this.

I come from stills, have D1, D2, sitting on the shelf.. those are lovely bodies with crappy chips, not only is it costly to me, but also wasteful environmentally.

I applaud you keeping it simple modular, upgradable etc..

This news has me worried and excited simultaneously. But more of the latter. It would of been great to know Dragon specs/pricing for Scarlet at this point in time - would make a world of a difference in my decision making.
