Firewire 800 connector problem

Hi there; anybody else having trouble inserting the firewire 800 connector into the red raid? We have two and although the drive connector looks close there is a |_| shaped metal tab that seems to be shaped more like \___/ on the drive and the connector won't seat.
Don't want to force it!

they are physically different connectors but the red raid has both so use the one that fits.

The 400 connector works just fine the problem is with the internal workings of the 800 jack. The cable we have plugs into the apple and aja HD/IO box just fine but won't go into the drives. Don't know what's going on, but thanks for the reply.

is the connector the same on both ends? maybe the red raid's case wasn't milled properly and it's blocking your connector? can you send a pic of the connector side of the red raid?

800 connectors often don't seat very well - if it's making contact, that may be as good as you'll get... it'll still wobble.

No such luck Alexis, can't even get it to go in at all. Will try to get some pix up tomorrow.

Here are the connectors
Left = Firewire 800 plug
Middle = Red Raid
Right = HD/IO box (this one fits)

That appears to be the wrong fire wire cable. You need:

Thanks, didn't know there was more than one style, we are looking for one right now.
