All this anouncement is really great, congratulations, but what about the most important, the projector or the display ? If I clearly understood, the Red projector will include a 4K player. So what would be the price of this projector ? I don't see any advantage to buy the standalone right now, as you can't watch a 4K picture right now. And when you'll have the opportunity of getting the Red projector, what to do with the standalone player ?

Could I playback the .red file on the pc to confirm it the conversion went fine? Or do I need the rr for this?

    Yes, seriously.
So will the RREncode be an output codec that will be supported by other apps such as Resolve, Scratch, SpeedGrade etc and be an output codec to render to directly?

Yup same here for the last 2 years! I honestly can't believe what we saw was only 1.5MB/s. Totally BLOWS my mind and Loom was only in 2K when I saw it, but still it was GORGEOUS.

to those doubting the picture. I have SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES the last 3 years... its stunning and you need to not compare lousy web compression codec's to sophisiticated wavelet compression...

Red Ray has been ordered. Will be attending CES in Vegas to pick up an affordable 4K display.
