Just went by Ugrip today to fit some accessories, especially getting a working handheld solution for the ET 19mm system. The RedRail didn't fit the bill unfortunately.

Here is what we came up with:

With RED cradle. Balances like a dream on the shoulder. Has a large amount of inertia.


With Ugrip FS-1 cradle. Also balances well, but your shoulder will be positioned further forward.

The foam shoulder pads are my own design. Two water curt foam pads with velcro on the top side. They have a tight fit in the arri dovetail and can be be removed with a firm twist, and can be adjusted back and forth.
Contact me if anyone is interested...they fit the ET 15mm and 19mm bridges.


Their firestore FS-1 cradle works great with the RedDrive:

I will use this with my steadicam setup...just need my angled power cables and I can ditch the battery...

That's great Anders. The foam pad -is that on an aluminum plate, or is it all foam and just cut to fit in the dovetail "slot"?

No plate. They fit in the dovetail slot and the back one is secured with a square piece of velcro.
The top of the foam has a thicker more solid plastic surface that makes the top rigid.

Wow Anders Bravo what an amazing show reel. Thanks for the ugrip link. Can you talk a bit about the way you deal with Focus in those situations? What sort of systems you use and recomend for remote work or how are you doing what you do so well?

For wireless single channel work (Focus only) I use my Bartech/M-one combo. If more channels are needed I use a Preston FIZ.

Looks awesome Anders....So that Firestore cradle is already on the market and fits the RED Drive or is it being retrofitted to do so?

The current firestore cradle fits the Reddrive perfectly. I will experiment with adding rubber cushioning to the sides to add some shock absorption, but the current one works great. Did preliminary shock testing with no dropouts.

The microport receiver cradle is also very nice and adjustable. and fits the Audio limit perfectly.

And the best thing is that all parts have both 1/4" and 3/8" holes for easy mounting on the RED.
