You document the Joofa-scale for us, and you'll get your documentation :)
There was a tread with some back and forth between MichaelP and Luki about the XML. My guess is that Luki, MichaelP and ibloom will have the most working knowledge of the format. I don't think there's any formal documentation.
Maybe ibloom can be convinced to Wiki his understandings of it?
Standard disclaimers about unfinalised format will apply, of course.
Since a lot of this is still a moving target, the development process has been to export XML from RED and go through the tags and then work from there. In RedCine, the XML also carries the "subclips" frame offset as well as scale and X/Y offset. So creating files that have these XML values helps.
EDL support is based on standards of the EDL format itself. CMX 3600 is the one most used as it allows up to 8 characters as a source ID. We have created a "non standard" CMX EDL that allows up to 16 characters in the reel ID section but systems will have to tweak their import code to support it.
As more metadata gets added, there will more tags added to the file. This should not break support for previous tags and applications will add support for additional metadata over time.
Michael
Just export an XML from Redcine and open it up in TextEdit. All the tags are there except offset and scale, which only appear if they are modified. User refers to the Universal Unique Identifier, which can basically be anything if you want.
