  1. #1 Assigning Redcine to Spaces?
Is there any way to switch in and out of Redcine with other applications? I tried assigning it a "Space" in OS X 10.5.2.

We tried that originally. It works on our laptop, but not on the tower. Same OS on both. Can't figure it out.

There's a preferences pane that lets you assign these shortcuts - be wary of Spaces, though... I get buggy issues when I use it with FCP (although nothing bad enough that I don't still use it.)

Using REDCINE with Spaces will muck up things here. I still have REDCINE go screwy or just crash when trying to run other applications at the same time. No direct offense intended, but this stability issue needs some serious attention because it's inexcusable. I don't know what's causing it, if it's a memory protection issue or if it's a GPU issue, etc.. Same deal whether I run it on a Macbook Pro w/ATI GPU or a Mac Pro w/nVidia... Spaces usually causes REDCINE to self destruct. A dual monitor setup is a little better... Sometimes I can work in another application on my primary display while REDCINE is on the other, but I would never attempt if I was processing anything important.

Oh, and let's take a look at the multithreading code too... It sure can saturate all 8 CPUs on my Mac Pro at 70% or better when processing. But how come the performance increase over locking it to 4 cores is only about 5%? Something isn't right...

I've suddenly had RedCine pop up on my right monitor instead of my left .... I just wish I could get it back to the left. Any ideas how?

Sorry if this is obvious, but I believe there's an OS setting for letting the function keys pass straight through, vs. having to hit Fn. I noticed this first on one of those new metal keyboards.

Does that work on your machine? Nothing here, only F11. I wished you could set your own key preferences or there was a button to hide RedCine, F11 is just a weird key.
