  1. #1 What do you get for $17,500?
there was a thread over on DVinfo about this but it's old and outdated.
i missed out last time on the reservations but i'm going to do it on the 21st.

    anyway,what is included for $17,500?

from what i understand, you get:
    1. 1 x RED one
    2. 1 x battery and charger
    3. viewfinder/small monitor (this is a maybe?)
    4. 1 licence for REDcine

    have i got this right?

Nothing is locked down, but I believe that is close to what has been mentioned by Jim in the past. I would assume that if you do not have a reservation, however, some of those things may not be included when the next round of purchases go through.

I think you can assume the cost will rise slightly also.

I hope the cost doesn't go up... At this point the RED web site is still quoting the $17.5K price. At this point, reservations are still for an unavailable product that won't begin shipping for a few more months I doubt they will do much if anything to change what is offered for the current known price. Would seem silly of them to do so. The $17.5K pricepoint is a magic number for the camera (IMO). It puts the camera with a good lens, a couple 320GB magazines and an extra battery or two around the $25K mark. I really do hope that either the LCD screen (preferably) or the VF is included in the price.

Jim has said $17.5K through 2007. I think for non-reservation holders that will be body only (that's been implied but I don't think stated for sure)

    Camera body... $17.5K
    RED 18-85MM f2.8 Zoom... $9,500
    RED 300MM f2.8 Prime... $4,995

Spending day and night pouring over Reduser.net... Priceless
