Check out DELIVERED - we're on Day 5 - brutal desert heat. Cooled the camera easily with two ziplock baggies stapled together and saddlebagged over the camera body. The first time the camera turned off, we put the bags on and kept refreshing the ice and with the 106 degree temperature, it never turned off again.

    mmm!
shooting a red feature at this very moment!
it involves mo-bots (mormons) and family values.
honestly not that exciting but at least it looks pretty good.

Just wrapped "BAILEY" in Nashville, directed by Mario Van Peebles and starring Michael Clarke Duncan, Morgan Simpson, and Tom Skerritt. Blues-based character journey, requiring a lot of texture and striking imagery.

As cinematographer, I've previously lensed 17 features that were all shot on film. This was my first digital feature and my first RED project. Very happy with the results so far; excited to follow it thru post and beyond.

    Build 20, 4k, 16x9 (framed for 2.40:1), 23.98 fps

Did some extensive testing before shooting, to learn the parameters of the "digital emulsion", and then worked on-set during production in a manner remarkably similar to my film-based projects: lightmeter and all. My only complaint during the show was the quality of the EVF. I miss my Panavision's optical ground glass!

As a side note: I voraciously devoured the info in these forums and the RED site's FAQs during my "research" phase of this project, and feel that they armed me with a great deal of knowledge. Thanks to RED and the many users here for being so open and articulate about all things RED!
