Default Autofocus in stills mode?

Alright. Now we're cooking!

One question (search is a hopeless case). I LOVE the touch screen focus tracking. That, dare I say it, is what I would call a game changer for indie film making - I know many disagree but that's my opinion. Just wanted to ask, for stills work, do these brains have autofocus? The Nikon mount will be my weapon of choice. Will it work like my Nikons in stills mode?

"We've always done it that way" is not a valid argument.

Shane - Jim stated the Nikon/Canon mounts were active, so it is likely they will support the auto focus motors of the lenses.

I second Stephen's question. I'm in the same boat for a few new ones and would love to wait on the Bombs.

jeff,
not to sound like a curmudgeon, but in this situation, i'd definitely tell you to consider yourself lucky to live in the age you do. Those prices are less than most s16mm film AKS you would have seen in the 90s, and you still would have had to pay for film stock. Not since the beginning of filmmaking has it been necessary to own a camera to make films. Borrow, rent, trade. Thats what professionals do anyway, by-in-large.

I'll throw this out there one more time in the hopes someone with a red name sees it. Any news on the FF35 lenses? Or will that come with the FF35 brains?

I hope all the sensor data is fully available to program external devices via a software program that is user friendly???

Yes Sorry Stephen, The Bomb EVF we will have very small numbers in December.. Normal Production should begin in January.

Compressed, sure. Uncompressed, no. This has been covered in the past - not only would the uncompressed data stream be practically useless when compared to the quality of the compressed stream, but there isn't a practical means to transfer and store a data rate that high.

Do a search on the topic - Jim addressed this earlier in the year.

I do believe he made a hypothetical option available to those who just couldn't live without access to the data right off the sensor. They even put a price to the option. No one took Jim up on the offer.

Eh...I think you are mixing up some of the EPIC stuff with some of the Scarlet stuff, there. Perhaps Jarred can clarify, but the accelerometer stuff and so on is listed under the Epic. Don't get carried away, is all...and bear in mind that potential Scarlet users were expecting today to be the big information day, not to wait another month for more detailed information.

Jarred-

Can you shed some light on the sensor adjustment? How is it done, mainly?

Thanks man, exciting stuff.
