Is the side CF module user changeable?
Lens thread diameter on mini primes?

And I tried to calculate the price for a production package working with the s35 interchangable. If you already own the lenses it would be something like:

Body - 7000
Touchscreen 5" - 1200
PRO Redmote - 1750
Side CF-Module - 500
Side Handle - 950
Base Plate - ?
Battery Module - 1750
Electronic Canon mount - 500
CF-Cards (4) - 1400

So a total of $15 050 lenses and base plate price excluded

Is that correct? Am I missing something?
you do not need the side handle if you already have the red mote and battery module so

15050 - 950 = 14100

you could always get the 1000 dollar battery module rather than the more expensive one so subract 750 and get 13350

add 300 for the scarlet module adapter which you'll need to use the battery module

yeah so looks like 13,650 before lenses

it is optional if you mean you want to take it off and use another recording method

no word yet on mini prime lens diameters

I sure like the idea of using SSD.

You can't imagine how difficult a trick it is what we are trying to accomplish.... there is just no way. Our engineering team is all world, but the magnitude of complexity is hard to imagine. Most everything worked with the ASIC on the 1st try... but a couple of things didn't. The good news is that it is a metal spin and not a full re-spin... which could have set us back several months. Everyone, starting with me, wants all this done yesterday. My reputation, along with the whole RED team... is on the line. But in the end, we will be judged by what we put out, not how long it took.

I do, I know of somebody that developed revolutionary processors and a revolutionary way of designing chips (which I sent some investment information on). The first chip took way more reruns then desired, and saw this multiple times, before they got it down pat, years and years of waiting. Now they can more easily move design between new processes, first try.

Every major chip design usually also goes through this process, and usually delays. And this stuff is a needle in a haystack, except you also design a machine from the haystack.

I suppose that it is impractical to use a imagination technologies very low powered general purpose GPU design (or other low power consumption GPU) + control processor instead of an ASCI, because of the processing requirements of red code.

Am i right in thinking that if the s35 Scarlet brain is ordered with an option mount then that would be included in the brain price, forfeiting the PL mount

Maybe?

What a huge size difference between the Scarlet and Nikon. It's amazing how you guys were able to pack so much power into such a small package.

What I meant was if I can remove it myself or if I have to send it to RED for them to perform the removal. I can see times when I could need one and times when it would be in the way. If it's user removable that would be the best option. But the side module on the Red One is not.
