You record to the camera media first, then you can copy that file (or files) over Ethernet.

Jarred,
Thanks for the pics and info, nice work. The 2/3" cinema looks like my camera of choice at the moment (please post about the B4 option). I do have a question. The Mini-Primes have the "focus and iris" rings reversed. I have used the Canon EC primes and they have the same feature. My guess it helps with the "breathing" during focus pulls. I did have a slight problem, getting my Chroiszel follow focus in so close to the camera body for hand-held work-it was impossible with the Canon lenses, there was not enough room for the focus arm and gear, because the focus ring was on the inside not the outer part of the lens. Will the Arri, Chroiszel or other manufactures be able to use their follow focus' for hand-held work? My experiences show primes are very "tight" with rotation-this could be a bit difficult on the finger tips. |

HDR Mode isn't bracketed stills. I guess my midnight brainstorm was a premonition. :D
So how does it work? Does it use the max frame rate of the sensor to build up a composite? Or some clever sensor side trick? Will there be a tool for easily extracting R3D metadata into a chan file or similar? I suppose I could do it in Nuke but I would rather not have to. Just a little cmd line tool to drag and drop an r3d and spit out an XML/Chan/CSV file would be appreciated. How raw is the accelerometer data? Does it come out in estimated world units or is it just raw acceleration data int he meta-data and require processing SDK side to be posXYZ/rotXYZ or Quat? If the latter will we have the option to have the rotational data in Quat?

yes, in that configuration it's smaller which is nice for some applications but there's no way you're holding it comfortably like that. once you add on the bits that make it more comfortable to hold they should be closer in size.

Awesome. First there seems to be a tab to open up more on the left. There are two icons in the lower right that would appear to me to be battery related. Just curious what the outside one is. Looks like a cool down timer. Yes, I'm that geeky. I am very excited things are changing fast. So will the FLUTS replace our current monitoring luts (709, Redspace) or will they work in conjunction? How many different LUT's can be working? One to the client monitors and one for on boards? Two for on boards? Just curious.
