I had a problem before where occasionally the EVF would "flash" a bright color. It was something on output, since the problem never recorded to the drive. Took it in to RED and I have to say that the RED team did a phenomenal job of trying to turn it around so I could have it back for the weekend. They really pushed through and even stayed late so I could come pick it up yesterday afternoon, and I appreciated everyone's service.
That said, fixing the problem appears to have made a new one. It's about halfway through the day and the EVF has started freezing, going totally, unaliased black and white (even the HUD information). Unplugging and replugging the EVF once fixed the problem, but then it almost immediately happened again, and unplugging the second time did not work, only got a static snow pattern back on the screen. My guess is that a new problem was introduced during fixing the other, and that it's showing up now that the EVF is "overheating," since the QA process had it up for an hour and this only showed up after about 5. I put "overheating" in quotes because it doesn't feel like it's overheating, it's a little warm but not enough to cause alarm, but I can't think of what else would trigger this mid-way through the shooting day. But that's why I come here. :) Put in a support ticket, figuring I'll just have to take it back in on Monday, but thought maybe there JUUUST MIIIGHT be another solution I can do here. So...anybody?
