Default Crimson Problems

Hey guys. I'm trying out Crimson for the first time here, and I'm having a problem. My xml has only 5 clips, and I follow all the instructions, but when I open my new "telecine" xml in Redcine, only the first clip comes out right. The rest are scaled down to like 1/8 resolution and very dark. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Julio

Set your output XML to match your media, or change your sequence settings to match the footage you just brought in. You have to make sure your footage has correct settings all throughout workflow, this is critical... But not a Crimson Error...

Crimson doesn't send any scaling or color information to Redcine. It only deals with order and in and out points in the Redcine workflow mode.

It sounds like you just need to Scale All all your clips to whatever size you need and check your gamma settings on the clips you have imported.

When I render out of redcine, I get clips up to 2 frame to long. If I uncheck the "add frame" feature, the clips are still 1 frame to long. Also the version shows 0.9.4j, even though I updated to 0.9.4L.

Can someone help?

Sure,

We have a forum for all of this stuff:
http://www.crimsonworkflow.com/forum

You can adjust the end of the takes in your case by turning on handles and setting end frames = -1.

I'll look into seeing why that is happening to you. As always I'm here to help.

I've been in the process of addressing these issues by revising the XML engine, I think I got it nailed and I put it in the latest build.

Download 9.4P (Sunfish) here:
http://www.crimsonworkflow.com/download.htm

Sunfish doesn't need an extra frame. Done and done!

Let me know how else I can help.

Regarding the scale issue, I have had this before, and iit seemd to be a REdcine problem, try setting the Show option to full res while standing in the clip with the wrong scale. See if it changes back to its normal size. I try this and it worked, also it did not matter for the purposes of rendering to a desired format, the renders come up the right way !
